The Children’s Book Fair 2023 will be full of surprises!

Kolibrí Festivaali 2023 will host its traditional Children’s Book Fair, and it’s going to be full of surprises!   

Our Children’s Book Fair is one of our most traditional events and it offers a unique opportunity to take home second-hand children’s books in Spanish and Portuguese. And as every year, we embrace children’s literature with a wide selection of titles from publishers throughout Ibero-America. So don’t miss the chance to bring home second-hand and new children’s books to enjoy with your little ones 😉.   

This year, the Children’s Book Fair will focus on the work of Alfredo Soderguit, Guest of Honor of Kolibrí Festivaali 2023. The Uruguayan writer, illustrator, and filmmaker, author of Los Carpinchos (Ediciones Ekaré, 2020), will sign books at our fair, so don’t miss it!

  • 23.9.2023 – Pessi Kulttuurikeskus (Vantaa) – 11 am to 4 pm.   
  • 30.9.2023 – Malmitalo (Helsinki) – 11 am to 4 pm.   

You will also find beautiful illustrations of artists who participated in other editions of the Festival: Isidro Ferrer, Yara Kono, Paloma Valdivia y Juan Palomino.  You can have a look and buy them on Ninho’s e-commerce.

Remember we accept book donations!   

If you have books in Spanish or Portuguese, in good condition, that your little ones no longer read, we can find them a new home! Donations help us keep Kolibrí alive, so your contribution can be a book. 💚 We can’t think of a better way to collaborate.   

This year we offer you the opportunity to have a fun time with your family while donating your books.

So whether or not you have books to donate… 👇 Stop by!   

  • 26.8. – Redi – 11 am to 2 pm: The Book Fair team will hold children’s workshops in the Olohuone space of the Redi shopping center (Kalasatama, Helsinki). Games, readings, face painting, and many more surprises! 
  • 9.9. – Sello – 11 am to 2 pm: Main entrance of Sello Library. 
  • 16.9. – Sello – 11 am to 6 pm: During the first Kolibrí Family Day. 

   

You can also be part of the Book Fair family! A wonderful and fun team of volunteers organizes the Kolibrí Book Fair, and you can help them to collect and organize books for sale, or during the fair days at Pessi and Malmitalo.
