Kasheshi Makena (he/him) is a Tanzanian-Finnish multidisciplinary artist who has lived and worked in Finland since 2012. In addition to being a multi-instrumentalist musician, he has developed other artistic facets as a singer, songwriter, composer, dancer, and music educator at institutions such as the Sibelius Academy.

Kasheshi’s music draws from Tanzanian tradition, while his compositions reflect everyday life.

He leads the Musase Quintet and is a member of the Helsinki-Cotonou Ensemble, Shameless Shongololo Band and AITO Vocal Collective.
