The magic of Teatro al Vacío comes to Kolibrí Festivaali

teatro al vacio kolibri festivaali

In its 12th edition, Kolibrí Festivaali welcomes as guest company the team of Teatro al Vacío. We are proud to include in our program 2 of the most important works of the Mexican-Argentinian children’s theatre company: Pulsar and Cerca.

For the past 10 years, José Agüero and Adrián Hernández have been creating theatrical performances for young children in their early years. With their body theater and minimalist aesthetic productions, they have been part of the programming in various performing arts venues and museums.

They have presented shows in schools, public squares, and alternative spaces in Spain, Italy, England, Ireland, Poland, Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia, China, Canada, and the United States of America. In addition to their performances, they also provide playful spaces through artistic interventions for children and their families.

During Kolibrí Festivaali, Teatro al Vacío will be at:

  • 16.9.2023 – Sello Library (Espoo).
  • 23.9.2023 – Lastenkulttuurikeskus Pessi (Vantaa).
  • 30.9.2023 – Malmitalo (Helsinki).

Pulsar  – For children from 0 to 3 years old

Pulsar is Spanish and it means touching, caressing and exploring. The stage proposal will use wooden blocks to create a constantly changing landscape that moves, grows, rises and makes music. The audience will sit around this landscape, creating a safe community of their own.

This show proposes a dramaturgy of actions and images where the performers, playing with simple elements, summon the spectators to a pleasant, subtle, soft, and friendly experience through touch.

Close – For children from 3 to 6 years old

“Two complete strangers coincide in the same place at the same time. The two are very different from each other but with things in common. One and other. The OTHER is always a possibility, it can be someone to share. A friend. An exciting experience, like every day”.

Released in 2016, it’s a show that, through a dramaturgy of actions and images, reflects on space as a means of rehearsing how to establish complex socio affective relationships.

A show created in the artist’s residence at the Teatro Testoni Ragazzi La Baracca, Bologna, Italy, with the support of the Iberescena Program.
