Documentary workshop – Kolibrí Festivaali 2022

Do you want to learn how to make movies? In this workshop, children will learn about videomaking and get hands-on experience in planning and producing a documentary together during Kolibrí Festivaali. 

The workshop will be held:  

1st part: Friday, 9.9 (3pm- 6 pm), and Saturday, 10.9 (11am- 6pm), at Globe Art Point G.A.P (Malminkatu 5, Helsinki)  
– Video and audio techniques 
– Planning  a documentary on Kolibrí Festivaali 

2nd part: during Kolibrí Festivaali, children will capture images for a short documentary film on the festival. 
The children will be divided into teams, each one responsible for shooting video on one of the festival days. The schedule will be agreed upon between the instructor and participants during the first part of the workshop, but each participant must be able to attend Kolibrí for the second part of the workshop on one of the following dates:

    
*  Saturday, 24.9, from 10am to 6pm,  at Lasten Kulttuurikeskus Pessi (Vantaa)
or 
*  Saturday, 1.10., from 11am to 6pm,  at Annantalo (Helsinki).   

Children will learn how to make videos and create beautiful memories. Also, the resulting video will portray Kolibrí through the eyes of children and young people. The short documentary film will be showcased after the festival, on social media channels.

The detailed schedule for the workshop will be available later in August.

Application: 

Parents or guardians can apply by sending an email to [email protected] until 21.8.2022, informing the participant’s name, age, and motivation for attending the workshop. Parents should also inform their telephone number and which of the festival dates (see list above) the child is available to attend. Please be advised that participants must be able to attend both the theoretical sessions and the one shooting day during the festival.  

Selected applicants will be notified by email on  26.8. 

Participation is free for children of Ninho ry members! If you are not yet a member, you can become one with a contribution of as little as 15 euros/year.  

The workshop is organized by Kulttuurikeskus Ninho ry, Kolibri Festivaali and Videootit ry. Funding is provided by Arts Promotion Centre (TAIKE).
