Trio Mandeng: Interactive Music concert

Saturday, August 29, 2026 - Helsinki Central Library Oodi - 16:15

Sunday, September 20, 2026 - Kulttuurikeskus Caisa - 16:00

Trio Mandeng brings the joy of music and the magic of storytelling to the whole family! Delicate melodies woven by the kora harp and balafon transport listeners to a magical world where trees can speak and dragons love the sound of drums. In terms of genre, the concert draws on the ancient West African Mande tradition. The musicians originate from Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Finland. The storytelling language may vary depending on the audience and is either Finnish, French, English, or a mix of these, while the lyrics are sung in several African languages. The musical conversation, however, is understood by listeners of all ages from near and far. Welcome!

Songs: traditional music in Sousou, Mandinka, Wolof and Finnish.
