MUDA Kids is a Helsinki-based music and dance duo bringing together Tanzanian musicians Baraka Paul Issabu and Kasheshi Leonard Makena. Baraka is a pianist and bassist specializing in African rhythmic patterns across jazz, afro-jazz, and pop, with a background from the Sibelius Academy and community performance experience in Tanzania. Kasheshi is a vocalist, percussionist, trombonist, and guitarist, a storyteller and dance educator at heart, active in the Helsinki-Cotonou Ensemble and leader of the INDABA project. Together, they create intergenerational, plurilingual spaces where African rhythms become a shared language for people of all ages and can connect through rhythm, movement, and collective play.
