Mercedes Balarezo is an Ecuadorian dance artist and educator who has shared her talent in Mexico, Japan, Finland, and her native Ecuador.

She graduated with a Professional Degree in Contemporary Dance from Contempodanza in Mexico City and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Educational Sciences, along with a Master's in Arts, specializing in Dance Pedagogy, from the University of Arts in Helsinki.

Besides her extensive experience as an independent artist, she co-founded the dance group Impropias Collective and is a board member of the Artistic Platform Circus Maximus, both based in Helsinki.
