Ariles y más ariles

Saturday, September 14, 2024 - Sello Library - 16:00

Welcome to an authentic Veracruz party, set to the rhythm of ‘café con pan’ (coffee with bread)!

The Mexican band Jaranas del Norte returns to Kolibrí with a music and dance show inspired by the children's book “Ariles y más ariles. Los animales en el son jarocho” (Ed. El Naranjo, 2007), written by Caterina Camastra and illustrated by Julio Torres Lara.

‘Ariles y más ariles’ will take us to the Mexican countryside of Veracruz, where we will enjoy the different musical instruments, rhythms and melodies of son jarocho, its traditional musical style.

Discover its landscapes, its people, and the colorful animals that live there: singing and colorful birds, a speedy fish, a singing snake, and even a dancing iguana!

An interactive and visual concert featuring projected illustrations by Julio Torres Lara, traditional dances by the members of Jaranas del Norte, and more importantly, participation of the audience!
