In MeNiños, Tomas sings and plays the guitar. He is a musician, performing artist, conductor, composer, arranger and educator and holds a Master’s degree in music from Sibelius Academy. Tomas collaborates with several Finnish and foreign musicians, composers, choir and orchestra conductors, dancers and circus artists. He is one of the founding members of the contemporary circus company Cirque des Puces. His compositions have been performed by Aatra Kollektiv, EMO Ensemble, Helsinki Concordia, HOS Big Band, Koiton Laulu, Mieskuoro Laulajat and RAMA Big Band. Tomas has extensive experience in classical and contemporary music as well as African American and Hispanic music.
Natalia is a Colombian harpist and music teacher interested in sharing the sound of the lever harp in any context. Her musical influences stem from her background in classical, Latin American, contemporary and world music, as well as from free improvisation. She holds a Master’s degree in Global Music from the Sibelius Academy and is currently working on her artistic project: “A transcultural journey for harp, voice, electronics and visuals: traditional meets experimental”, funded by Kone foundation.
João Luís, born in Porto, Portugal, studied music at Conservatório de Música do Porto and Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, where he focused on orchestral percussion and was trained in chamber music, orchestra, early music groups as well as jazz combos. João collaborated with professional orchestras in Portugal and in Finland, as well as folk music groups, jazz ensembles and musical theatre plays, and has also taught percussion in the internationally-known social orchestra project El Sistema. Today, João studies in the Global Music Program at the Sibelius Academy and continues teaching at Tempo-Orkesteri, part of the El Sistema project in Finland. “
