Luciana Paltila is a lifelong learner and a language teaching expert. Originally from Brazil, she's been living in Helsinki with her bilingual family (Portuguese-Finnish) since 2017. Luciana has worked as a language teacher and learning facilitator since 2012 and currently teaches Portuguese as a heritage language. She is the vice-president of the Portuguese language teachers’ Association in Finland (APPF). Her experience as a mother of a bilingual child piqued her interest in learning how children develop their linguistic competencies. In this sense, Luciana is very enthusiastic about theories and research on bilingualism and language learning and eager to share with others her latest findings and best practices involving children who are learning Portuguese in Finland.
