Clay has been utilized in construction by diverse cultures in all the continents throughout the centuries. In this occasion, the hornero -a bird native from South America- comes to show us how it builds its house with clay. Can we replicate the model? The goal is to share ever actual millennial technique of building with clay and that in our day, is valuable again as a sustainable alternative. The workshop aims to have children and adults directly in touch with the material so that they can experiment the pleasure of learning by creating with their hands.

The workshop Flipbook is an opportunity for people to understand and practice the basic principles of animation. Through designs frame by frame the object will start moving and make an action. This way, the participants can let their imagination fly and create short but amazing stories.

13:00-14:00 Little Kolibrí Napo – shadow theater
    • Suitable for all ages.
  • Capacity: 40 couples
  • Duration: 20 minutes.
  • We speak Finnish and Spanish.

Join us on an adventure deep into the Amazon jungle! Kolibrí – shadow play (performance) takes the spectator to the roots of the stories and myths of the indigenous peoples of South America. Carried out with colorful shadow puppets, the play narrates how Kolibrís and the other birds of the jungle received their colorful feathers.

16:00-17:00 Closing Party: Dance of Traditions

This is a party for children aged from 0 to 100 years old, for all the family to dance, moms and dads and also the grandparents. All the friends of Kolibrí are welcome. Yes! We will await for you and your beautiful smile, your costume, your traditional dress or fancy attire and of course, your dancing shoes, let’s celebrate Helsinki in the funniest party of the year.

We expect to see you there, we will have Império do Papagaio – Stadin Sambakoulu and much more music and raffles.
