Natalia Castrillón is an incredible Colombian harpist keen to spread the sound of this instrument far and wide. She has been collaborating with artists of different musical genres and other disciplines as theatre, dance, and contemporary musical improvisation.
Kaisa Mäenpää is a fantastic Finnish clarinetist. She started to play clarinet at 12, in the Tampere Music School for Wind Instruments. She then continued studying music and wind instruments. In 2012 she graduated from Sibelius Academy, as Master in Music.
Grisell Macdonel-Kvist is a fabulous Mexican double-bass player as well as a Ph.D. researcher in musicology at the Helsinki University. In addition to various musical projects in which she plays the double-bass, she also conducts the Latin-American songs and rhythms workshop for children.
About their motivation to participate in Kolibri Festivaali, Flores de Nieve say: “To take part in Kolibrí is a great opportunity to develop our trio project, inspired by the diversity of our instruments and our multiculturality, and to celebrate diversity.
