Kolibrí Festival’s autumn party is full of surprises and playfulness. Many stories to be told in the middle of books, music, songs and dances that celebrate life. Welcome to visit new places and cultures, to listen the languages spoken there and above all, to make new friends. The big surprise, we will say farewell to Kolibrí until next year! Remember to bring your party dress or costume, and also mom’s and dad’s. Free entrance! The spots in the workshops are limited and registration starts from September 6th.

Shelves full of fairy tales in Portuguese and Spanish await children of all ages. You are welcome to come, read and listen to colourful stories from here,  there and everywhere. The stage is free or all volunteers to read stories.

12:00-13:00  Napo, the small kolibrí, shadow theatre performance

Join us in an adventure though the Amazonic jungle! The shadow theater performance will take us to a journey of indigenous tales and stories from South America. Come and learn how thousands of years ago, Napo, the hummingbird and other birds got their colorful plumage. This fun and playful play will be performed in finnish and spanish simultaneously and it is for all ages.

Puppet artists: Sinni Peltola (Finland) and David Muñoz (Spain)
Capacity: 40 couples and sing up here

14:00-16:00 The Kolibrí autumn party

This party is for children aged between 0 to 100 years old. The entire family: mothers and fathers, grandparents and all of Kolibrí’s friends are welcomed. The party will be divided in two parts: First, we will enjoy music and dance and later the family dance will begin.

  • Latin American Children Choir (10 min) This is debut concert of this Latin American songs and rhythms workshop for children. A workshop to learn Spanish through songs and music and it takes place every saturday in Caisa Cultural Center. Director: Tristana Ferreyra-Rantalaiho (Argentina)
  • Paisaje Sonoro de Colombia, Interactive Concert (45 min) A harp, cello and electronics invites to a sound journey from reality to imagination! Bring along all your disposition to be part of this fantastic journey. Musicians: Natalia Castrillón and Sergio Castrillón (Columbia)
  • Latin American colors (15 minutes) Join the party! Come and get filled with colors and music joy as well as traditional dances from Latin America with “Pasos de Fuego”: Punta (Honduras), Paras (Peru) and amazonian joy (Peru). Director: Nieves Vuoristo (Perú). Askelten palo ry – Pasos de Fuego.

El Baile

Yes! We will await for you and your beautiful smile, your regional or party dress or a costume and of course, your dancing shoes. Together we will celebrate the funniest party of the year with our star DJ, Sergio Castrillón. We will have music and raffles. Culture is the smile that is everywhere!
